What we do

Garden Organic has over 40,000 supporters and reaches more than 3,000,000 beneficiaries across the world through its expert advice and information. We are based at Ryton Gardens in Warwickshire and celebrated our 50th year in 2008.

Organic gardening advice
Whether you are a novice gardener or need specific advice on dealing with a pest or disease, you'll find what you need here.

Organic Guidelines
Whatever the style, size or location of your garden, the Garden Organic guidelines will help you look after it organically. They are based on Garden Organic's 50 years experience in organic growing.

Research & International Development
We run major research programmes that help farmers and growers across the UK and overseas to adopt organic methods.

Schools
Over 10% of UK schools have joined Garden Organic's free educational programme, Garden Organic for Schools, helping pupils learn about food and organic growing.

Home Composting
Over 500 Master Composter volunteers from around the UK have so far been trained to spread the home composting message through Garden Organic's sustainable waste programme.

Master Gardener Programme
Garden Organic are recruiting and training volunteer Master Gardeners to promote local food growing. We’ve launched in four pilot programme areas thanks to Big Lottery Fund’s Local Food scheme.

Our organic gardens
Garden Organic manages demonstration gardens showing all aspects of organic growing.

Ryton Gardens
Over 30 individual gardens in ten acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Britain's Best Organic Restaurant, the world's first public biodynamic garden, award winning organic shop and the Vegetable Kingdom.

Audley End Organic Kitchen Garden
Audley End is a glorious Jacobean stately home owned by English Heritage. Garden Organic helped in the painstaking restoration of the Organic Kitchen Garden from an overgrown, semi-derelict state in 1999.

Heritage Seed Library
Ryton Gardens is also home to the charity's renowned Heritage Seed Library, which protects over 800 varieties of rare vegetable seeds from the threat of extinction.

Conference Facilities
Ryton Gardens, set in the Warwickshire countryside, offers a unique venue for meetings, conference and events.

Sowing new seeds

Sowing New Seeds
We are helping to preserve the culture of growing andusing non traditional crops around the Midlands. We have set up a resource of factsheets, a display garden and an exotic seedcollection to enable community groups, schools and gardeners to grow these crops.
